Embark on a local adventure as we paddle through the heart of Bettendorf, Iowa, on a captivating kayaking journey down Duck Creek and into the mighty Mississippi River! An exciting experience only accessible after a rainstorm!
When to go?
Duck Creek is the longest creek in the Quad Cities. While typically too shallow to float, this waterway also manages storm water runoff and quickly fills up to a navigable amount after a rainstorm. We can utilize the USGS Water Monitoring website for Duck Creek to check water levels in the creek to verify good depth.
Where to get in?
There are no marked access points along Duck Creek, so you’ll have to plan ahead where to drop in. There are several parks along the Duck Creek Bike Trail, and they provide an excellent place to park your vehicle and access the water!
